Why it matters
Education makes a difference. Not just for this present generation, but
for generations to come. We support initiatives that help
reimagine
learning environments
and develop future-ready learners who think
critically, act responsibly, and lead with purpose. We do this because we
know that such an educational environment will go on to transform many
lives. Through technology-enabled classrooms and sustainability-driven
design, education becomes a living experience that shapes readiness for
tomorrow as much as it imparts knowledge today.
How it’s unfolding
At Singapore American School, the new elementary campus operates as a learning laboratory.
Students interact with real-time data on energy use, water recycling, and renewable energy generation,
turning sustainability into daily practice. Purpose-built STEM labs nurture creativity and computational thinking,
while refreshed play spaces designed as an “urban forest” spark imagination and curiosity.
AI-enabled classrooms prepare students to take on the future.
Educators are also supported in their own learning journeys to ensure that
they grow alongside the students whom they nurture.
Together with the WWF Eco-Schools Program, EESF’s support
reaches over 13
schools, 14,000+ students, and 110+ educators across Singapore each year.
Project-based learning is fostered in their own school contexts, where
students are given the mantle to experience their school environment with
an eye towards sustainability. Novel field experiences, like the Wetlands
Immersion Program, help students step out of the classroom to become
environmental stewards in their own communities.
